Shotgun Hippie
SHOTGUN HIPPIE was one of those projects that was so aligned with my own personal interests that it barely even felt like work. A lifestyle magazine targeted at men between 25 and 50, SGH attempted to reconcile the often opposing genres of self-improvement and fun. It tackled a range of subjects, from diet and exercise, to spirituality and entrepreneurship, from how to save the planet, to how to assuage a hangover.
Shotgun Hippie was monetised by affiliate marketing partnerships and I was a regular guest contributor. Sadly, after a two-year run and half a million subscribers, SGH folded for good in 2020. I managed to rescue some of the content I wrote for the magazine and will post a few articles on here so you can get a taste.
